Yongin City to Overhaul Building Permit Processing Practices
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] At the Municipal Strategy Meeting on the 26th, Yongin Mayor Baek Kun-ki received a report on the results of the building permit civil complaint processing improvement plan being piloted in Suji-gu, and ordered it to be expanded to all departments, including urban planning deliberation.
This comes as Suji-gu has been receiving a positive response by limiting the number of requests for supplementary documents for building permit complaints to a maximum of four since last June, and improving step-by-step processing methods such as separate management by the complaint department when notifying of supplementation.
As a result of the four-month pilot operation (June-September) in Suji-gu, the ratio of supplementation requests and the average number of supplementations decreased by 17.9%p and 60%p respectively, and the average number of days to process complaints dramatically decreased from 32.2 days to 18.3 days, an average of 13.9 days (43%p).
Mayor Baek requested, “Improve the supplementation request system that is repeated as a matter of practice after building permit documents are received, and have each department closely identify the matters that need supplementation during the first deliberation, reducing the number of supplementation requests and processing days to minimize citizen inconvenience,” adding, “Please do your utmost with the humility of serving citizens, holding the attitude that the citizen is the mayor.”
Meanwhile, Yongin City operates a pre-review of items submitted to the Urban Planning Committee and a pre-filtering system for administrative rejection dispositions in order to simplify permit procedures and enable predictable complaint processing.
