Suwon City Conducts Special Sanitation Inspections of Food Service Establishments for Fall Season
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City will conduct special sanitation inspections of food service establishments through the 15th of next month ahead of the fall foliage season.
This inspection is aimed at intensively managing food service establishments in areas with high pedestrian traffic as social distancing measures are eased and outdoor activities increase during the fall season.
Inspection targets include 100 restaurants located around hiking trails and tourist attractions, including areas near Gwanggyo Mountain, Chilbo Mountain, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress (Haenggung-dong area), Suwon Station, and the bus terminal.
Inspection teams consisting of civil servants and consumer food hygiene monitors will promote compliance with 'core quarantine rules' such as mask wearing and visitor log management, and will conduct on-site verification of implementation. Inspections will also cover food hygiene handling standards and compliance with food sanitation laws.
Food service establishments that fail to comply with quarantine rules will face administrative measures in accordance with relevant laws.
The city completed sanitation inspections of 42 registered food trucks and 51 hamburger preparation and sales establishments in the jurisdiction from the 19th to 23rd.
Additionally, food samples from food trucks and hamburgers were collected and submitted for testing to the Gyeonggi Province Health and Environment Research Institute.
