Suwon City Council Chairman Cho Seok-hwan Holds Meeting with Gyeonggi Branch of Korean Massage Therapists Association
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City Council Chairman Cho Seok-hwan held a meeting with the Gyeonggi Branch of the Korean Massage Therapists Association at his office on the afternoon of the 10th.
The Gyeonggi Branch of the Korean Massage Therapists Association is a non-profit organization that operates various policy proposals and welfare projects to promote the interests of visually impaired massage therapists. The meeting was attended by Chairman Cho Seok-hwan, Gyeonggi Branch Director Choi Ui-ho, Secretary General Kang Ho-bong, and Advisory Committee Member Jung Geun-ho, among others.
Officials from the Gyeonggi Branch conveyed to Chairman Cho the challenges related to the community service investment program for visually impaired massage services, including insufficient numbers of service users compared to the population in Suwon and difficulties in recruiting new clients.
They proposed a review of implementing a new postpartum massage service program to create jobs for visually impaired massage therapists and suggested improvements to the operation of the Gyeonggi Massage Training Institute.
Chairman Cho Seok-hwan stated, "I will work to explore support measures through consultation with relevant departments. I will do what I can to provide some assistance to our visually impaired massage therapist colleagues."
