Suwon City Council Chairman Cho Seok-hwan Holds Meeting with Gyeonggi Branch of Korea Massage Therapists Association
[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City Council Chairman Cho Seok-hwan held a meeting with the Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Massage Therapists Association on the afternoon of the 10th in the Chairman's office.
The Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Massage Therapists Association is a non-profit organization that operates various policy proposals and welfare programs to promote the rights and interests of visually impaired massage therapists. Attendees at the meeting included Chairman Cho Seok-hwan, Gyeonggi Branch Director Choi Ui-ho, General Affairs Director Kang Ho-bong, and Advisory Committee Member Jeong Geun-ho of the Korea Massage Therapists Association.
Officials from the Gyeonggi Branch informed Chairman Cho about the shortage of massage service users among visually impaired people relative to the population in Suwon and the difficulties in recruiting new service users, in relation to the visually impaired massage service initiative under the Community-Based Service Investment Project.
They recommended consideration of implementing a new postpartum massage service business to create jobs for visually impaired massage therapists and proposed improvements to the operation of the Gyeonggi Massage Training Institute.
Chairman Cho Seok-hwan stated, "I will work to explore support measures through consultation with relevant departments. I will do what I can to provide assistance to the visually impaired massage therapists."
