[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City's fifth Together Care Center opened its doors on the 12th.

Approximately 10 people attended the opening ceremony, including Seo Kyung-bo, Director of Welfare and Women at Suwon City, Chae Myeong-gi and Choi Young-ok, Suwon City Council Members, Choi Dae-woo, Chief of Woncheon-dong, and key officials from 'Dream Growth Dream Care,' while adhering to quarantine guidelines.

The Suwon City Together Care Center provides customized childcare services for children in need of care (elementary school students) and aims to reduce childcare burden on dual-income families and other households while addressing childcare gaps.

It provides customized services to elementary school students in need of care, regardless of parents' income level. Teachers stationed at the center (childcare teachers) offer various services including snacks, learning and reading guidance, psychological counseling, and experiential activities.

The No. 5 center is located on the 2nd floor of the management building of Woncheon Lake Park's Woncheon Public Apartment Complex Unit 2, at 28 Jungbu-daero 448bun-gil, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon City. With a total floor area of 100 square meters, the total project cost was 117 million won. It includes a program room for experiential activities, a kitchen, and an office.

Children ages 6 to 12 (elementary school students) in need of childcare can use the center. Priority is given to lower-grade elementary school students and children from dual-income families or multi-child households. Operating hours are five days a week (Monday to Friday), from noon to 8 p.m. during the school year and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during school breaks.

The non-profit organization 'Dream Growth Dream Care' will operate the center on a five-year contract.

Meanwhile, the city plans to establish a total of 20 centers by 2022.
