Yongin City Receives Blood Donation Certificates from Samsung Electronics-Yongin Communication Council
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] Yongin City announced on the 12th that the Samsung Electronics-Yongin Communication Council delivered 2,020 blood donation certificates to Yongin Severance Hospital, requesting that they be used for people in urgent need of blood.
The delivery ceremony was attended by nine officials including Baek Gyun-gi, Mayor of Yongin City, Choi Dong-hun, President of Yongin Severance Hospital, Ko Young-woon, Chairman of Samsung Electronics-Yongin Communication Council, and Kim Jong-heon, Director of Samsung Electronics Yongin Social Contribution Center.
Ko Young-woon, Chairman of Samsung Electronics-Yongin Communication Council, said, "After learning from the news about blood supply shortages due to COVID-19, our employees gathered blood donation certificates through campaigns and decided to donate them." He added, "I hope this helps those who truly need it."
Choi Dong-hun, President of Yongin Severance Hospital, said, "I am grateful to Samsung Electronics employees for providing great support during these difficult times," and added, "The blood donation certificates we received will be used preciously for patients in need."
Mayor Baek Gyun-gi said, "I am grateful to Samsung Electronics-Yongin Communication Council, which has been engaged in various activities to establish a sharing culture and pursue mutual prosperity through communication with local residents."
Meanwhile, the Yongin Communication Council was established in 2014 to promote communication and mutual prosperity between Samsung Electronics and residents in the vicinity of the Giheung Campus. Thirteen council members, including Samsung Electronics employees and local residents, are serving as council members.
