On the 25th, the province jointly held a Biz Technology Briefing with Samsung Electronics and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation at the Samsung Electronics Win-Win Cooperation Academy Training Center in Suwon.
This briefing was conducted in a non-face-to-face manner to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and 175 people, including executives and researchers from 69 companies seeking new technology development and new business opportunities, participated.
At the briefing, through video presentations across a total of three sessions—▲promising technologies held by small and medium-sized venture companies ▲the latest excellent technologies of universities and research institutions ▲innovative company technologies in Russia's materials, parts, and equipment field—commercialization-linked technologies of eight promising small and medium-sized venture companies and four universities and research institutions recommended by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, as well as innovative technologies in the materials, parts, and equipment field of six Russian companies recommended by Gyeonggi Province, were introduced.
Prior to this, the province conducted a service to discover and survey excellent Russian materials, parts, and equipment companies this year, with the goal of producing innovative products and jointly entering the global market through technological cooperation between companies holding Russian source technologies and companies within the province.
Accordingly, a demand survey was conducted among Samsung Electronics partners on the 50 discovered Russian technologies, and 18 companies expressed interest in 23 technologies, confirming an active willingness to cooperate.
At this technology briefing, presentations were held for the six technologies of greatest interest among them, including intelligent robots and drone/robot hydrogen fuel cell technologies.
In addition to introducing promising domestic and international companies and technologies, support systems for technology companies were also introduced, such as Gyeonggi Province's 'Russian Innovative Technology Commercialization Support Project,' the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Industry-Academia-Research Collabo Research and Development (R&D) Project,' and Samsung Electronics' 'Free Transfer of Excellent Patents.'
On the day of the briefing, an online technology consultation session was also held, with customized technology consultations conducted between presenters and attendees so that they could lead to practical technological cooperation and commercialization.
A Gyeonggi Province official said, "For companies, securing technological innovation and new growth engines is urgent as a way to overcome the crisis caused by COVID-19," adding, "We will spare no support so that both countries' companies can achieve mutual growth by combining Russia's excellent source technologies with the commercialization capabilities of Samsung Electronics partners."
