Pyeongtaek City Selected as 'Excellent Organization' in Gyeonggi Province Urban Regeneration Institutional Evaluation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City has been selected as an excellent organization in the 2020 Gyeonggi Province Urban Regeneration Institutional Evaluation.

The Province conducts annual performance evaluations for urban regeneration and redevelopment projects across 31 cities and counties. The evaluation method determines rankings by assessing five categories: local capacity building and conflict resolution, institutional operation and improvement, work performance, active administration, and bonus points.

The city received top scores in evaluation categories including urban regeneration local capacity building, securing 'first place' and receiving a Gyeonggi Province institutional commendation.

Mayor Jung Jang-seon said, "We will not be satisfied with the selection as Gyeonggi Province's excellent organization and will do our best to improve residential and urban environments that citizens can feel."

Since the seventh term of civilian-led government, Pyeongtaek City has focused on balanced development of old urban centers, securing a total project budget of 70.7 billion won after being selected three consecutive years for higher-level institution competitions including Ahn-seong, Sinpyeong, Seojeong, and Sinjang projects.
