[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Yeongdeungpo District in Suwon conducted water quality inspections of civil defense emergency water supply facilities on the 16th and 17th of this month to ensure residents can safely drink water provided in the event of a civil defense emergency.

Currently, there are 8 facilities subject to water quality inspection among the civil defense drinking water supply facilities in the district. The district visited the sites, collected water samples, and requested testing for 7 items including drinkability, general bacteria, and total coliform at the waterworks office.

Among the civil defense water supply facilities, drinking water must undergo water quality inspection once per quarter, and general-use water once every three years. The district plans to conduct water quality inspections for both drinking water and general-use water in May, and continue drinking water inspections in August and November.

Kim Yong-deok, head of Yeongdeungpo District Office, said, "We will continue to conduct emergency water supply quality inspections and thoroughly manage frost prevention during winter so that residents can use the water supply facilities with peace of mind."
