'2021 Yongin City Family Volunteer Corps' Begins Activities
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] Mayor Baik Kun-gi of Yongin attended the launch ceremony of the '2021 Yongin City Family Volunteer Corps' and encouraged volunteers while urging active participation.
The Yongin City Family Volunteer Corps is operated by the Yongin Volunteer Center (Chairman Baik Kun-gi) since 2013 to activate family-unit volunteer work with the aim of spreading a culture of sharing and fostering a healthy family culture.
This year, the Family Volunteer Corps has 146 participants from 40 families in the city. Beginning with the launch ceremony, over eight months until November, the group will carry out various volunteer activities including environmental cleanup, sharing holiday meals of love, creating card news related to Korean language, and collecting mobility information for traffic-vulnerable populations.
The launch ceremony was held on the 24th at the City Hall Convention Hall, attended by Mayor Baik and officials from the center and the Family Volunteer Corps.
Mayor Baik, who serves as the center's chairman, said at the event, "I thank the volunteers who participated in the Family Volunteer Corps for a more livable Yongin City," adding, "So far, the Family Volunteer Corps has taken interest in community issues and underprivileged groups and carried out diverse activities. We ask for your active participation this year as well."
