Suwon Yeonhwajang Launches 'Love-Filled Lunchbox Sharing Event'
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Yeonhwajang, operated by Suwon Urban Corporation (President Heo Jung-moon), held a 'Love-Filled Lunchbox Sharing Event' on the 13th.
The event was organized to provide a warm meal to vulnerable populations in the local community, including people with disabilities and low-income elderly families, as the year comes to an end.
About 20 participants, including employees of Yeonhwajang and members of the Dandelion Volunteer Corps for Sharing Love, directly prepared and packaged over 100 lunchboxes. The Dandelion Volunteer Corps handled the delivery.
Previously, Yeonhwajang and the Dandelion Volunteer Corps for Sharing Love signed a business agreement on the 25th of last month to promote corporate social responsibility activities in the practice of ESG management. This lunchbox sharing activity is the first project following the agreement.
The lunchbox sharing activity was made possible through coins collected via the Seungcheonho wishing well within Seunghwawon and donations from Yeonhwajang employees.
Meanwhile, Yeonhwajang has annually collected coins from the Seungcheonho wishing well and conducted volunteer activities for vulnerable populations during the year-end and New Year season, including preparing homemade lunchboxes and delivering donations.
Chae Su-mook, director of the Yeonhwajang Business Office, said, "We hope that our neighbors who struggle with meals will feel a little more supported through the handmade lunchboxes," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in spreading the culture of community volunteering through various sharing activities."
