Suwon Designates 2023 Open Childcare Centers
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Special City on the 31st delivered designation certificates to 155 childcare centers (51 newly selected, 64 reselected) designated as "2023 Suwon Open Childcare Centers" and 21 newly selected childcare centers at the Suwon Childcare Comprehensive Support Center.
The city newly selected 51 open childcare centers this year, including 30 newly selected open childcare centers by district offices. The 2023 designated open childcare centers receive incentives such as priority support for substitute teachers and teaching materials and equipment funds.
The city previously received applications from September 8 to 14 and selected the 2023 open childcare centers through processes including "on-site facility evaluation (openness, participation, diversity)" and "program evaluation (operation of original excellent parent participation programs)".
Meanwhile, open childcare centers are initiatives promoted for parents, childcare centers, and local communities to jointly create a healthy childcare environment. The core is to open childcare center facilities and enable parents to participate in overall operations including childcare programs, thereby establishing a reliable childcare environment.
A city official stated, "Open childcare centers are places where homes and childcare centers can actively communicate," adding "We will continue to activate open childcare centers and work to create healthy and safe childcare environments."
