Pyeongtaek Hosts New Year's Greeting Reception for Year of the Dragon 2024
[Suwon Ilbo=Lee Su-won Reporter] Pyeongtaek City held regional New Year's greeting receptions on January 2-3 to welcome the new year 2024, the Year of the Dragon.
The New Year's greeting receptions began on the 2nd at the Pyeongtaek City Hall conference room with a meeting with heads of 9 townships and districts in the southern region, followed by a meeting with heads of 11 towns and districts in the northern region at the Songtan Branch Office conference room the same day, and concluded with a meeting with heads of 5 townships and counties in the western region at the Western Welfare Town Grand Hall on the 3rd.
The New Year's greeting receptions were attended by approximately 120 people from each region, including Mayor Jeong Jang-seon, City Council Chairman Yu Seung-young, national, provincial, and municipal lawmakers, where attendees shared New Year's greetings and well-wishes for a dynamic leap forward in the new year.
Mayor Jeong Jang-seon said in his New Year's address, "Despite many difficulties over the past year, Pyeongtaek City has achieved results in various fields including hydrogen and semiconductors," and added, "In the new year of the Dragon, I will work together with Pyeongtaek City public officials to ensure these achievements bear even greater fruit."
