[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Special City Mayor Lee Jae-jun met with public officials practicing proactive governance and urged them to "continue practicing proactive governance that citizens can feel."
On the 2nd, the mayor met with and encouraged six exemplary public officials practicing proactive governance, including Jo Kyung-ae, head of the Low Fertility Response Team, and Choi Young-hee, veteran team leader at the Citizen Hall, at his office, and exchanged views with them.
The city was recognized as the top-performing agency when veteran public officials with more than 20 years of experience at the Saebit Civil Service Office listened to citizens' concerns and ran back and forth between business departments and on-site locations to provide one-stop solutions to complex and chronic civil complaints. This exemplary case received favorable evaluation in the "2023 Comprehensive Evaluation of Proactive Governance by Local Governments" organized by the Ministry of Interior and Safety, where Suwon ranked first among basic local governments.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lee and the public officials held hand-held signs inscribed with phrases encouraging the practice of proactive governance and pledged to implement proactive governance.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "I express my gratitude on behalf of citizens to all employees who have worked hard for the citizens," and added, "I will ensure that employees who work proactively are properly compensated and treated well."
