Yongin City Presents "Home Repair" Gift to Dreamstart Families

[Suwon Ilbo=Ki-ho Choi, Reporter] Yongin Special City announced on the 6th that it provided home repair support on the 4th together with the Yongin Lions Club (Chairman Han Jae-hyun) so that Dreamstart families living in poor conditions could reside in a comfortable environment.

The target family for this home repair is a single-parent household with a 45-month-old child, and three generations currently live together with the child's grandmother.

The inside of the home was in poor condition for a young child to live in due to mold, outdated sinks, and accumulated items, and the situation was difficult to improve as all family members suffered from illness and faced economic hardship.

The city, together with the Yongin Lions Club, provided the families with wallpapering and flooring replacement, and also replaced bathroom tiles and sinks so they could live in a comfortable home.

The Yongin Lions Club covered the cost of home repairs and provided a place for the single-parent family to stay during the 4 nights and 5 days of construction, and decided to continue providing support in areas where help is needed beyond home repairs.

Meanwhile, the city is providing customized integrated services in areas such as cognitive and language development, physical health, emotional and behavioral support through its Integrated Child Services Project for Vulnerable Populations (Dreamstart), targeting children 12 years old and under and their families.

A city official stated, "We undertook home repair support to improve the living environment of the target family that had been residing in poor conditions," and added, "We are grateful to the Yongin Lions Club for improving the living environment of the target family to a comfortable level."
