"I Want to Introduce Suwon to Serbia as a 'Smart City Model'"

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Nemanja Grbić, Serbian Ambassador to Korea, who paid a courtesy visit to Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun, said, "I want to introduce Suwon City to Serbian cities as a model of 'smart city'."

Mayor Lee Jae-jun met with Ambassador Nemanja Grbić at his office on the 12th to discuss cooperation plans. The meeting took place at the request of Ambassador Grbić, who received a New Year's greeting from Mayor Lee Jae-jun.

Ambassador Grbić stated, "I am aware that Suwon City is a representative local government in Korea," and added, "I hope Suwon City and Serbia will actively cooperate in the smart city and eco-friendly technology sectors."

Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "I appreciate the good proposal from Your Excellency," and continued, "The '2025 Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific General Assembly,' which introduces ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) technology from Suwon, Korea, and Asia-Pacific countries, will be held at Suwon Convention Center at the end of May. I would be delighted if you could visit." He added, "Regarding the eco-friendly technology sector, we will review cooperation plans including solar power generation, rainwater storage, and wastewater treatment technologies."

Prior to the informal talk, Mayor Lee Jae-jun introduced Ambassador Grbić to the Saebit Civil Affairs Center and other facilities.
