Namyangju Urban Development Corporation Donates 30 Sets of Desks and Chairs for Vulnerable Children

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Namyangju Urban Development Corporation (CEO Lee Gye-moon, hereafter "the Corporation") donated 30 sets of desks and chairs to the Eastern Hope Care Center (Director Shin Young-mi) on the 24th to improve the learning environment for vulnerable children residing in Hwado-eup.

The donation ceremony was attended by Corporation CEO Lee Gye-moon, the chief union representative, and Chairman Kang Myung-hun of TOP Furniture Co., Ltd. The group visited two vulnerable households directly and delivered not only desks and chairs but also two computer sets.

This donation initiative was undertaken after the Corporation learned from the Eastern Hope Care Center that some homes lacked desks and chairs or had broken furniture, forcing adolescents to study at dining tables and other makeshift locations. The Corporation sought to support these children by providing a better learning environment where they could pursue their dreams.

In particular, TOP Furniture Co., Ltd., a local furniture company, participated in this donation activity by custom-manufacturing 30 sets of desks and chairs at a price less than 50% of actual cost.

Director Shin Young-mi of the Eastern Hope Care Center said, "I am so delighted to see the children smiling brightly now that they can use their own desks, chairs, and computers."

Chairman Kang Myung-hun stated, "Seeing how happy the children are is very rewarding, and I will continue to do my best to help those in need in the future."

CEO Lee Gye-moon said, "Since our role is to support children's dreams and hopes, we manufactured and donated 20 sets of desks and chairs with TOP Furniture last year, and this year we have continued by donating 30 sets," adding, "I hope the children in our district will grow and achieve their dreams in a better environment."
