AI Creative Fusion Educational Product 'AI Pledo' Finalized as 'National Innovation Product'
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] 'AI Pledo,' a cognitive care and AI creative fusion educational product by Pledo Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Gwan-seok), a specialized edtech company, was finalized as a national 'Innovation Product' at the Procurement Service's Innovation Product Designation Ceremony held on the 15th by the government.
The product has been officially recognized as innovative technology representing South Korea in the fields of children's AI education and senior dementia cognitive treatment.
This national innovation product selection is considered significant in that AI Pledo was recognized for both the 'public value' that can contribute to solving cognitive health and educational disparities in our society, going beyond a mere educational tool, and the 'technological differentiation' that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
We examined the process of AI Pledo's selection as an innovation product and its scope of application.
■ The culmination of 'Digital+Analog+AI+Content' fusion...possesses world-unique foundational technology
AI Pledo's greatest competitive advantage lies in patented technology that perfectly fuses the tactile experience of 'analog blocks' with the unlimited expandability of 'digital content.' While conventional digital educational devices focused solely on on-screen content, AI Pledo activates comprehensive brain functions through physical activities where children and seniors directly touch and arrange AI blocks, self-directed learning methods, and over 30,000 differentiated content pieces including AI and newspaper reading, while supporting the development of thinking skills, literacy, and problem-solving abilities.
In particular, AI Pledo possesses 'world-unique foundational patented technology' that can freely generate and modify the content of information windows (learning information) embedded within AI blocks.
Through this, it can expand infinitely to cover not only general subjects such as Korean, English, and mathematics, but also music, art, coding, AI education, newspaper reading, and cognitive training for dementia prevention, kiosks, and personal autobiography creation. This differentiated technological capability is protected by numerous domestic and international patents and is evaluated as original technology with no similar cases in the global market.
■ From senior dementia to developmental disorders, elementary care...a 'lifespan cognitive solution'
What particularly attracted attention in this national innovation product selection process was AI Pledo's broad range of applications. The government, highly evaluating the social value and public nature of AI Pledo, dramatically expanded the procurement target scope.
Primary distribution targets include △seniors requiring dementia prevention and cognitive rehabilitation △children with developmental disabilities and borderline intellectual disability requiring delayed cognitive development support △multicultural families requiring language and cultural adaptation education, including so-called 'slow learners.'
Additionally, the target has expanded to △after-school care classrooms and kindergartens in public education settings, establishing its position as an integrated educational and cognitive care solution spanning the entire lifespan from infants to the silver generation.
■ Acceleration of entry into public procurement market..."will eliminate gaps in education and welfare"
The innovation product selected for accelerating overseas expansion using proprietary patented technology such as AI care robots and integrated platforms provides the benefit of being able to conclude negotiated contracts with national and local governments for up to six years in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Additionally, through the Procurement Service's pilot purchase project, public institutions can prioritize product adoption, and distribution to community centers nationwide, welfare facilities, elementary and early childhood schools, and care centers is expected to accelerate.
Meanwhile, Pledo Co., Ltd. plans to strengthen collaboration with local governments and educational institutions across the country starting with this national innovation product selection, and through an integrated platform with the Pledo AI Care Robot (patent registered) scheduled for launch in December with support from Seoul City and SBA, will accelerate global expansion efforts to showcase the excellence of Korean edtech and AI care robots to the world market.
CEO Kim Gwan-seok of Pledo Co., Ltd. stated, "AI Pledo's selection as a national innovation product is a result that proves how warm technology can change the world beyond technological innovation," and added, "Going forward, based on our foundational patented technology, we will aggressively pursue the public procurement market so that anyone without exception can benefit from quality AI creative education, cognitive education, and dementia prevention."
