[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Eom In-yong] The People Power Party held a joint press conference of winners of the metropolitan proportional candidates youth open audition at the National Assembly's communication center on the 14th.

This press conference marks the first official collective action by all winners of the metropolitan proportional youth audition selected in March, ahead of the June 3 local elections.

At the press conference, Kang Myung-gu, senior vice president of the People Power Party's Organization Division, who served as chairman of the youth audition committee, said in his prepared remarks, "There has been much talk of politics for young people, but there have not been sufficient opportunities for young people to grow as protagonists in politics."

He also emphasized, "We selected young talent through fierce competition and verification including national voting, discussions, and in-depth interviews rather than factionalism or background," and stressed, "The significance is even greater in that it did not end as a mere event but led to actual nomination recommendations."

Councilor Kim Han-seul, who delivered the closing remarks at the press conference, said, "Elections are the last bastion to judge wrongful power and protect democracy."

Councilor Kim then made five pledges on behalf of all the winners: △Practice the value of fairness in the field △Win the people's choice through fair competition rather than tricks △Practice politics with solutions beyond criticism △Stand against predatory populism to protect the heart of South Korea's economy △Lead the way toward recovering politics where common sense prevails.

Furthermore, he emphasized, "We will do our utmost until the end so that the victory of the People Power Party becomes a victory for fairness that protects future generations."

Meanwhile, the press conference was attended by 10 winners of the metropolitan proportional candidates youth open audition including Choi Jong-bu from Seoul, Lee Beom-seok from Incheon, Kim Han-seul from Gyeonggi, Bae Gwan-gu from Busan, Ju Ho-dong from Daegu, Heo Ji-hoon from North Gyeongsang, Kim Young-rok from South Gyeongsang, Seo Young-il from Gangwon, Lee Byung-hoon from South Chungcheong, and Kim Tae-hyun from Jeju, as well as Park Yun-kyung, candidate for basic proportional representation from North Gyeongsang Province, and Lee Jeong-han, candidate for metropolitan proportional representation from Jeju.
