Hanbyeong-do, Floor Leader: "If Park Si-seon Elected, Democratic Party Will Firmly Support Yeoju's Development"

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Han Byeong-do, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party, received a 'Policy Proposal for Designating National Garden on Namhan River Waterfront' from Yeoju Mayor Candidate Park Si-seon at a campaign rally held at Hangeul Market in Yeoju on the 31st.

At this occasion, Candidate Park stated, "Yeoju, which has suffered from overlapping regulations, needs national-level compensation and development strategies beyond simple deregulation," and emphasized, "One solution to this is to proceed with designating a national garden on the Namhan River waterfront."

He also proposed that the Namhan River National Garden would be a win-win development model that preserves Yeoju's natural environment while improving citizens' quality of life and revitalizing tourism, culture, and the local economy.

In response, Floor Leader Han Byeong-do stated, "I recognize the reality that Yeoju has long suffered from citizen inconvenience and constraints on regional development due to various overlapping regulations, including water source protection areas," and added, "I will actively review and support the policy proposals delivered by Candidate Park Si-seon and Yeoju's urgent issues at the party leadership and parliamentary levels."

He further emphasized, "This election is not simply about electing one mayor, but an important election where Yeoju's future can change depending on whether a ruling party mayor or opposition party mayor is elected."

He also stressed, "With President Lee Jae-myung in the central government, Choo Mi-ae as the Gyeonggi Provincial Governor candidate, and Candidate Park Si-seon in Yeoju, a strong united team system will be created connecting the president, provincial governor, mayor, and National Assembly."

Kim Seung-won, Chairman of the Democratic Party's Gyeonggi Province Committee, also participated in the campaign rally, stating, "Yeoju, where the spirit of King Sejong rests, has many tasks to resolve," and expressed, "To resolve issues such as the creation of Gangcheon Island National Garden, the establishment of Gangcheon Station, expansion of road networks linked to the Yangpyeong Expressway, expansion of medical facilities, and deregulation—none of which are trivial matters—a strong ruling party mayor is absolutely necessary."
