Yongin Special City Opens Applications for Small and Medium Manufacturing Business Environment Improvement Project

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 13th that it is accepting applications for the 'Business Environment Improvement Project' targeting local small and medium-sized manufacturers and knowledge industry centers through September 4.

The support covers five areas: infrastructure, labor environment, knowledge industry centers, working environment, and fire safety facilities, with subsidies covering up to 80% of costs.

In the infrastructure sector, support is provided for road expansion and paving in densely populated small business areas, as well as water and sewage, minor bridge repairs, and drainage maintenance. Applications must include three or more businesses.

In the labor environment sector, support is provided for installation and renovation of dormitories, rest areas, dining facilities, and restrooms for small manufacturing enterprises with average annual sales of 2 billion won or less over the past three years. The maximum subsidy is 40 million won.

The knowledge industry center sector targets facilities that have been completed for more than seven years. Up to 60 million won can be provided for repairs and renovations of public facilities such as parking lots and restrooms, as well as renovation of aging machinery rooms.

The working environment sector provides support for workspace renovations, work tables, ventilation and dust collection equipment, and LED lighting installation. Small manufacturing enterprises with average annual sales of 1 billion won or less over the past three years are eligible for up to 20 million won in support.

The fire safety facilities sector supports both small and medium enterprises (manufacturing) and knowledge industry centers. Up to 70 million won is provided for installation and renovation of fire safety facilities including alarm equipment, wireless fire detectors, and automatic fire detection systems.

Businesses wishing to apply should prepare the necessary documents including an application form and submit them to the Business Support Division in person or by mail. The city plans to select final supported businesses by January 2027 after document review, on-site inspection, and deliberation by the Gyeonggi Province Enterprise Development and Support Measures Council.

A city official stated, "Since we are providing support for infrastructure such as roads as well as installation and renovation of workplaces, restrooms, and rest areas, we hope many businesses will show interest," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to improve infrastructure and working environments to create a business-friendly environment."

Previously, the city provided approximately 500 million won in support to 31 local small and medium-sized manufacturers through this year's business environment improvement project.
