Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 13th that it will accept applications for the 'Business Environment Improvement Project' targeting local small and medium manufacturers and knowledge industry centers through September 4.

There are five support areas—infrastructure, labor environment, knowledge industry centers, work environment, and firefighting facilities—with up to 80% of costs supported.

In the infrastructure area, support is provided for road expansion and paving in areas with concentrated small and medium enterprises, as well as for water and sewage systems, small bridges, and stormwater pipe maintenance. Three or more businesses may apply jointly.

In the labor environment area, support is provided for the installation, repair, and improvement of dormitories, break rooms, cafeterias, and restrooms at small and medium manufacturing companies with an average annual revenue of 20 billion won or less over the past three years. The maximum support amount is 40 million won.

The knowledge industry center area targets facilities that were completed at least seven years ago. Up to 60 million won can be provided for the repair and improvement of public facilities such as parking lots and restrooms, and for the repair and improvement of aging machine rooms.

The work environment area supports the repair and improvement of work spaces, workbenches, ventilation and dust collection equipment, and the installation of LED lighting. It targets small manufacturing enterprises with an average annual revenue of 10 billion won or less over the past three years, with up to 20 million won provided.

The firefighting facilities area is open to both small and medium enterprises (manufacturing) and knowledge industry centers. Up to 70 million won is provided for the installation, repair, and improvement of firefighting facilities such as alarm systems, wireless fire detectors, and automatic fire detection equipment.

Companies wishing to apply should prepare documents such as the application form and submit them by visiting the Business Support Division or by mail. The city plans to select the final support recipients in January 2027 after a document review, on-site inspection, and deliberation by the Gyeonggi Province Enterprise Development and Support Measures Council.

A city official said, "Since we support the installation, repair, and improvement of workshops, restrooms, and break rooms along with infrastructure such as roads, we hope many companies will take an interest," adding, "We will continue to work on improving infrastructure and working conditions to create a business-friendly environment."

Earlier, the city provided about 500 million won to 31 local small and medium manufacturers through this year's Business Environment Improvement Project.
