Suwon and Bonghwa County Foster Cooperation...Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground Surpasses 10,000 Visitors

Suwon Special City announced that the 'Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground' surpassed 10,000 visitors just 10 months after opening.

As of August 31, the cumulative number of visitors to Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground was tallied at 10,832. Of these visitors, 64% (6,942 people) are Suwon residents, indicating that Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground has established itself as a resting place for Suwon citizens.

Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground, which opened on October 22 last year, operated in pilot mode until November 30, then closed from December through March before resuming operations on April 1 this year.

During the 40-day pilot operation last year, 2,660 people visited Cheongnyangsan Campground, and from April 1 to August 31 this year, 8,172 people visited the campground over five months.

'Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground,' a result of cooperative partnership between Suwon City and Bonghwa County, is located in Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province. The facility is equipped with 12 auto-camping spots including 9 deck camping sites and 3 gravel camping sites, and 18 accommodation facilities including 6 caravans for six people, 5 easy camping sites (mini caravans), and 7 glamping sites.

Fifty percent of all facilities are allocated through lottery prioritizing Suwon residents and Bonghwa County residents, while the remaining 50% are allocated through random lottery. Winners are announced at 10 a.m. on the 16th, and reservations are confirmed upon payment within 24 hours after announcement. Remaining facilities not reserved are available on a first-come-first-served basis starting at 11 a.m. on the 17th of each month.

A Suwon City official stated, "In autumn when fall foliage is at its peak, visitors will be able to fully enjoy the true charm of camping in Cheongnyangsan's beautiful natural landscape," and added, "We will do our best to provide campers with a special camping experience that harmonizes nature and local culture."

Meanwhile, Suwon City will conduct a survey on user satisfaction with Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground and a survey on visitor preferences for user-centered programs on the mobile civic participation platform Saebittalk Talk until September 16. The city plans to create a better camping environment by reflecting visitors' opinions.
