Gyeonggi Province Office of Education International Education Institute Successfully Carries Out RAS Character Development Internationalization Project in Mongolia

The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education International Education Institute (Director Kim Young-gwan) operated the 'K-Culture Student Ambassador Project' in the Ulaanbaatar area of Mongolia.

A total of 28 people, including 20 students from Gyeonggi Province and accompanying teachers, participated in this five-day event held from the 6th to the 10th.

The ambassador group visited Ulaanbaatar School No. 52 on the 7th and the National Teachers University Affiliated School on the 8th, respectively, operating 'K-Culture Festivals' on various themes.

Cheonghak High School introduced the 'Cheongsang Yeolcha Bunyajigdo' (Map of the Heavens) based on Joseon-era astronomy and Korean folk paintings, while Yongjuk High School presented an experience of assembling miniature traditional Korean house structures.

Shinwon High School conveyed the beauty of the Korean language through poetry recitation centered on Hangul, and Pungsan High School prepared a performance combining Korean traditional dress, Hangul, and K-POP dance.

Namyang High School enjoyed traditional Korean games such as stone flicking and jacks with Mongolian students, and local school students reciprocated with performances of traditional Mongolian music and dance, creating a space for Korean-Mongolian cultural exchange.

The activities prepared by the students are noteworthy in that they align with the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education's 'RAS Character Development Education,' which encompasses reading, arts and culture, and sports education, and RAS education has expanded beyond borders into the international education field.

Kim Young-gwan, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education International Education Institute, said, "This K-Culture Student Ambassador activity became a meaningful opportunity for our students to introduce our culture to the world through content prepared by themselves and to share hearts with Mongolian students." He added, "We will continue to provide diverse support so that Gyeonggi Province students can grow into global democratic citizens through international exchange."
