Suwon Special City Confirms Supplementary Budget of 4.1677 Trillion Won…Allocates Funds for Resource Recovery Facility Repairs and R&D Science Park Development

Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) has confirmed a second supplementary budget for 2026 totaling 4.1677 trillion won.

The Suwon Special City Council passed the second supplementary budget bill for 2026 at a plenary session on the 11th. This represents an increase of 336.6 billion won (8.8%) compared to the first supplementary budget of 3.8311 trillion won. The increase includes 224.3 billion won in the general account and 112.3 billion won in special accounts.

Major projects include △13.4 billion won for military noise damage compensation △12.2 billion won for green remodeling of public buildings △54.5 billion won for major repairs to the resource recovery facility △18 billion won for early childhood care and education costs △17 billion won for support grants for activities assistance for persons with disabilities △19.9 billion won for The Gyeonggi Pass △10 billion won for the Indeokwon-Dongtan double-track railway △25 billion won for Suwon R&D; Science Park development, among others.

Suwon Special City Mayor Lee Jae-jun stated, "This supplementary budget was prepared with a focus on securing sustainable growth momentum for the city and improving aging public infrastructure to create a pleasant urban environment," and added, "We have carefully reflected budgets for people's livelihood stabilization, such as public transportation support and care for the vulnerable, to enhance the quality of life for citizens."
