Education Superintendent An Min-seok Urges Parents: "You Are Education Partners... Please Refrain from Malicious Complaints"

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Education Superintendent An Min-seok) held the '2026 Gyeonggi Education Transformation Parents Special Lecture' for approximately 1,000 parents in the province at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's Jowon building on the 14th.

The event was organized to move beyond one-way policy announcements from the education field and provide substantial future directions addressing parents' deep concerns.

The event included △exhibitions and experiences of Gyeonggi education policies △a special performance by a parents' gayageum ensemble △(Part 1) introduction of Gyeonggi education policies by Education Superintendent An Min-seok △(Part 2) celebrity special lectures exploring the direction of future education, and more.

In Part 1, Education Superintendent An Min-seok introduced Gyeonggi education policies including the establishment of sustainable school culture through Phon-preschool and culture, arts, and physical education (RAS) education; "breaking down walls" for educational cooperation with communities; protecting legitimate educational activities and building parent cooperation systems based on trust; and the implementation of AI education in schools.

In Part 2's 'Answer Session,' Professor Kim Hyun-chul from Yonsei University delivered a lecture on the theme of "The Power of Education and Policy That Changes Our Children's Future."

Professor Kim emphasized that in the AI era, non-cognitive competencies such as empathy and bodily sensation are key competitive strengths rather than knowledge memorization. He identified "non-cognitive competencies" such as empathy, collaboration, and bodily sensation as core weapons for surviving in future society, and presented "four types of real learning (learning together, learning with one's body, learning to make judgments, and learning to build will)" as solutions aligned with Gyeonggi's RAS policy.

Education Superintendent An Min-seok said, "Parents are partners and collaborators in education, and communication between schools and parents is truly important," urging, "Please trust the schools and refrain from malicious complaints."

Superintendent An further emphasized, "The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will establish teaching rights, cooperate with communities through 'breaking down walls,' and actively promote reading education, arts, and sports (RAS) education suited to the AI era."

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Northern Region Education Transformation Parents Special Lecture is scheduled to be held for approximately 800 parents at the Goyang KINTEX Grand Ballroom at 10 a.m. on the 16th.
