"Hoon-sik's older brother but local older sister is stronger"...Jang Dong-hyuk takes direct aim at President Lee's inner circle

Rep. Jang Dong-hyuk, chairman of the People Power Party, has not loosened his offensive despite the resignation of Blue House Chief Presidential Secretary Kang Hoon-sik, instead expanding responsibility to Kim Hyun-ji, the first deputy director of the presidential office, and President Lee Jae-myung.

On the 21st, after news of Secretary Kang's resignation was reported, Rep. Jang posted on his SNS: "While the president takes no responsibility at all, his posture deserves high marks," but then asked "Is this incident something that should end with just one presidential secretary taking responsibility?"

He continued, "Aren't the people who should really take responsibility the 'Gyeonggi-Seongnam line' that controls the Blue House?" and added, "After all, is 'older sister Hyun-ji' stronger than 'older brother Hoon-sik'?"

Taking Secretary Kang's resignation as an opportunity, he shifted responsibility for recent personnel controversies to the Blue House's core aides, directly targeting Secretary Kim.

Rep. Jang went further to hold President Lee accountable as well.

He argued that "replacing the presidential secretary would have been resolved long ago," stating "a comprehensive overhaul of the cabinet and Blue House is necessary."

Regarding the Blue House's explanation of Secretary Kang's resignation as "taking comprehensive responsibility," he countered, "The person who should take comprehensive responsibility is President Lee Jae-myung."

Earlier that day, Secretary Kang expressed his resignation to President Lee.

The Blue House explained that as the presidential secretary assisting the president in a situation marked by recent personnel controversies and declining approval ratings, Secretary Kang would take comprehensive responsibility.

Rep. Jang had already been on the offensive against Secretary Kim before the news of Secretary Kang's resignation was announced.

During the Supreme Council meeting that morning, mentioning the withdrawal of former Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won, he stated "this cannot end with Kim Seung-won's withdrawal," and insisted "the responsibility of the Blue House personnel line and Kim Hyun-ji's involvement must be clarified."

Citing the subsequent withdrawals of former Gender Equality and Family Minister nominee Yong Hye-in and former nominee Kim, he said "all remaining nominees should be withdrawn" and "the entire cabinet and Blue House should be completely overhauled."
