Juicy Experience! Fruit Picking Program Gains Popularity

Suwon Special City is operating an 'apple harvesting experience program' at Suwon Fruit Orchard Park in Homae-sil-dong, Gwonseon-gu, until the 27th of next month.

A total of 23 experiences will be held, with 1,123 participants including children, elementary, middle and high school students, and vulnerable groups. Participants receive basic education on the characteristics and benefits of fruit trees, and then experience apple harvesting, fruit tasting, and bingo games.

Suwon Fruit Orchard Park is the nation's first urban fruit orchard park, providing citizens with a space to experience the growth process and harvest of fruit trees in the city. This year, Suwon City is operating seasonal fruit tree experience programs coinciding with the growth periods of cherries, plums, peaches, grapes, pears, and apples, in addition to fruit tree flower and branch growth experiences.

An official from Suwon City said, "Citizens will be able to pick apples and taste them, experiencing the value of agriculture and the joy of harvest," adding "we will continue to operate various experience programs utilizing the fruit orchard park."
