Over 1,500 Schools and Educational Institutions in Gyeonggi Province Offer Free Parking During Chuseok Holiday

The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education (Superintendent An Min-seok) will open parking lots at its affiliated educational institutions and schools free of charge during the Chuseok holiday to provide parking convenience for people returning home to Gyeonggi Province and local residents.

The free parking period runs for four days from September 24 to September 27, marking the beginning of the Chuseok holiday.

The participating institutions include approximately 1,500 locations in total, including the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education, directly affiliated organizations, education support offices, libraries, training centers and other educational institutions, as well as schools throughout the province. Operating hours will be flexible depending on the conditions of each school or institution, with some facilities open all day.

Information about the locations and details of free parking lots can be found starting from 2 p.m. on the 23rd, the day before the holiday, through 'Gongyungnuri' (a public resource opening and sharing service for the general public), as well as Naver Map, Kakao Map, Tmap, iNavi Air, and Hyundai Car Navigation.

Parking lot users must leave their contact information on the front of their vehicle in case of emergencies. Additionally, since educational facilities such as schools will be used, visitors must exercise special caution to prevent student safety accidents and must comply with usage rules, including prohibitions on damaging facilities and illegal dumping of trash.

The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education plans to continue practicing open educational administration by sharing educational facility parking spaces during the Chuseok holiday to reduce parking inconvenience for returning visitors and local residents, and to work together with the local community.
