Osan Central Youth Culture Center Opens Its Doors

The event was attended by approximately 80 guests and youth from the city, including Mayor Gwak Sang-wook, Park Weong-su, chairman of the Osan City Council, city and provincial council members, and officials from Hanshin University, the organization entrusted with operating the center, who celebrated the opening ceremony together.
The opening ceremony proceeded with pre-ceremony performances by youth from the Osan South Youth Culture Center and Hanshin University students, followed by Director Park Eun-soo's progress report, congratulatory remarks from guests, ribbon cutting, and facility tours.
At the opening ceremony, Mayor Gwak Sang-wook said in his congratulatory remarks, “I believe that families and society can only be happy when youth are happy,” and added, “Following the Osan South Youth Culture Center, I hope this newly opened Osan Central Youth Culture Center will become a cultural space where Osan's youth can fully enjoy themselves.”
The newly opened Osan Central Youth Culture Center is located on the 4th floor of the Jung-ang-dong Community Center with a size of 606.1 square meters, and its main programs include emergency first aid classes, school-linked projects, and career and job camps.
Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays (10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in winter), and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. The center is closed on legal holidays and every Monday.
Meanwhile, the Osan Central Youth Culture Center is the second youth culture facility in the city to open following the Osan South Youth Culture Center, and the Shin-jang Youth Culture Center is scheduled to open in 2015 after remodeling the current Shin-jang-dong Community Center.
