Osan City Actively Operates Comprehensive Observation System This Year

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kwak Sang-wook) announced that it will operate a comprehensive observation system this year to prevent various accidents through early detection of risk factors before citizen inconveniences occur and to create a pleasant and vibrant urban environment by identifying factors that detract from the city's aesthetics.

The comprehensive observation system operates as a process in which all civil servants working in Osan City identify all risk factors and detrimental elements related to citizen safety and convenience during commutes and business trips, post them on the Saeol Administrative System, and have relevant departments register processing results after on-site confirmation.

Intake cases registered in the Saeol Administrative System require relevant departments to register processing results within five days from the date of intake, with priority placed on prompt handling.

A city official stated, "Civil servants are conducting the comprehensive observation system with thoroughness in the determination to improve the quality of citizens' lives through attentive observation of their surroundings," and added, "We will do our best to create a pleasant and vibrant city image through continued active operation of the comprehensive observation system."

Meanwhile, the comprehensive observation system, which has been implemented since 2010, has resulted in 757 cases in 2012 and 944 cases last year. Through passionate observation activities by Osan City civil servants, the city continues to identify and promptly resolve citizen inconveniences.
