Osan City Holds Launch Ceremony for '2014 Elderly Employment Project'

The launch ceremony, held under the auspices of the Silver Workforce Bank operated by Osan City Volunteer Center (Director Kim Ok-ju), the implementing organization for the elderly employment project, was attended by approximately 400 people, including Osan City Mayor Kwak Sang-wook, National Assembly Vice Chairman Choi Woong-soo, job project participants, and related officials.
The launch ceremony proceeded with remarks from the implementing agency head, words of encouragement, congratulatory remarks, a reading of the working seniors' declaration, group photos of project participants by program, job project briefing, and orientation training.
Osan City Mayor Kwak Sang-wook, who attended the launch ceremony, stated, "In modern society facing increasing aging, seniors also need self-management for a healthy retirement," and added, "I hope that participation in the elderly employment project will contribute to a healthy and happy retirement."
Meanwhile, this year's elderly employment project will use a total budget of approximately 1.14 billion won to provide jobs for 539 seniors, an increase of 4 projects and 65 people compared to last year, from March to November. Programs including community center assistants, library support, Silver Care, Life-Love Education Team, and workforce dispatch projects will be carried out year-round.
