Suwon Urban Corporation (President Lee Young-in) has installed the 'Saebit Family Bereaved Persons' Lounge at Yeonhwa Crematory to streamline family-centered funeral services and alleviate financial burdens from expensive altar installations. In particular, this Saebit Family Bereaved Persons' Lounge is designed as a smart-type lounge with digital technology applied for the first time among public funeral facilities nationwide.

According to the corporation on the 1st, the 'Saebit Family Bereaved Persons' Lounge, which will begin operations on the 6th, has been established in the small bereaved persons' lounge on the first floor of the existing Yeonhwa Crematory funeral hall. It is the smallest bereaved persons' lounge within the funeral hall, where most family funerals are conducted.

Family funerals are increasingly being chosen by bereaved families due to family-centered memorial services, reduced mourners, and funeral expense burdens.

In fact, while the average monthly usage of the existing small bereaved persons' lounge was 2 cases based on 2024 data, it has increased more than twofold to 4 cases in the first half of this year.

In keeping with changing funeral culture, the corporation has improved internal facilities and space, including sofa installations, to utilize the existing small bereaved persons' lounge as a family funeral-specialized lounge.

Additionally, to reduce the financial burden on bereaved families from altar installations costing at least approximately 400,000 won, the corporation has introduced a video transmission method through monitors. This is the first among public funeral facilities nationwide.

Previously, the corporation determined that preemptive response was necessary due to the increasing demand for simplified funerals such as family funerals, and since March has been promoting discussions with funeral experts and benchmarking efforts.

President Lee Young-in stated, "We proceeded with the Saebit Family Bereaved Persons' Lounge to simplify funeral formalities while maintaining the meaning and dignity of commemorating the deceased," and added, "We will spare no effort in leading funeral culture innovation and enhancing services."
