Hwaseong Awarded Presidential Commendation for "Civic Grievance Resolution Innovation Creating Citizen Happiness"

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) presented the achievements of grievance resolution innovation through organizational restructuring, staffing improvements, and inter-departmental collaboration at the 'Grievance Innovation Case Report' held at the Government Sejong Convention Center on the 2nd.
On the day, Kim Jeong-hwan, team leader of Hwaseong Special City, was selected as "2026 Outstanding Public Official for Grievance Resolution" and received a presidential commendation in recognition of his contributions in resolving complaints about river odor through public-private partnership.
The report session, presided over by the President and jointly organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, was designed to share cases of administrative innovation through citizen grievances and to encourage the dedication and achievements of field public officials, with the subtitle "Citizens' Voices Change Korea."
Yu Woon-ho, director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau of Hwaseong Special City, took the podium and introduced the process of establishing a system to comprehensively resolve increasingly complex grievances resulting from rapid urban growth, under the theme of "Hwaseong Special City Grievance Resolution Innovation Creating Citizen Happiness."
In particular, he emphasized the enhanced internal grievance resolution capacity of the institution through operating the "Traffic and Road Grievance Rapid Response Mobile Unit," resolving daily inconveniences through "Daily Inconvenience Help QR Code" and the "Administrative Comprehensive Observation System," establishing a dedicated team for exceptional grievances, and hiring professional grievance mediators.
Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myung-geun stated, "This achievement is the result of listening to citizens' voices thoroughly and finding solutions together with various departments and residents," adding, "We will strengthen the grievance resolution system where the institution shares responsibility together, protect and encourage field public officials, and build Hwaseong Special City where both citizens and public officials are happy and grow together."
