Gyeonggi Province to Hold 'Water Industry Development Forum' with Malaysia on the 30th
Gyeonggi Province is moving to expand cooperation with Malaysia's water industry institutions, leveraging AI-based smart water management technology and field demonstration achievements of local water companies.
On the 30th at 2 p.m., Gyeonggi Province will hold the 'Gyeonggi Province Water Industry Development Forum' themed "The Future of Gyeonggi Province's Water Industry: Opened by AI and Smart Water Management" at the Grand Hall on the 3rd floor of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon.
The forum will be attended by approximately 100 participants including provincial and municipal government officials, water companies, experts, and representatives from Malaysia's National Water Services Commission and National Water Research Institute. Co-organized by the Gyeonggi Water Resources Headquarters and the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Agency, it will discuss digital transformation of the water industry and overseas cooperation possibilities.
In Part 1, Gyeonggi Province will introduce water industry support policies and development direction, while organizations including the Korea Water Resources Corporation and Korea Environment Institute will present AI-based water management policies and technology trends. Malaysia's National Water Services Commission (SPAN) and National Water Research Institute (NAHRIM) will share prospects for the local water resources sector and major issues in water technology and industry.
In Part 2, technologies from Gyeonggi Province water companies that have completed field application will be introduced. Wecotech, Greenturbine, and U&Tech; will share their implementation experience and achievements with technologies verified in actual field settings, including Vietnam river water quality data monitoring, damage prevention air pumps for individual wastewater treatment facilities, and high-concentration ammonia nitrogen wastewater treatment.
Following the forum, one-on-one business consultations will take place between invitees from Malaysia's National Water Services Commission and National Water Research Institute and local water companies. Gyeonggi Province plans to confirm local technology demands and institutional and operational conditions through these consultations, and aims to materialize future technology exchange and cooperation possibilities.

Based on cooperation needs identified at the forum, we will continue to support the overseas expansion of water companies in our province."
