Hwaseong City Hosts 30th Senior Citizens Day Ceremony, "Grateful for Elders' Dedication"

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-keun) held the "30th Senior Citizens Day Ceremony" at the Hwaseong City Hall Grand Hall on the 30th, ahead of Senior Citizens Day on October 2.

The ceremony, hosted and organized by Hwaseong Special City, was attended by approximately 350 participants including local seniors and key guests. The city organized the event to express gratitude to elderly residents who have dedicated themselves to community development and to reaffirm respect for seniors and the importance of intergenerational harmony.

The event proceeded with opening performances by the Korea Dance Group of the Southern Senior Welfare Center, followed by ▲opening ceremony ▲commendation of honorees ▲commemorative address ▲congratulatory remarks.

In particular, commendations were presented to individuals who have contributed to community service and the promotion of senior welfare, honoring those who have worked diligently for elder care throughout the region.

Park Hak-soon, chair of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Hwaseong Western Chapter, said, "I hope this ceremony will be an opportunity to reflect on the lives and dedication of our seniors" and "We will unite our efforts so that seniors can live in safe and warm environments."

Eo Ho-seon, chair of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Hwaseong Eastern Chapter, stated, "Creating a society where seniors are respected and generations are harmonized is a task for all of us" and "The newly launched Eastern Chapter will also strive to enhance senior rights and support an active and vibrant retirement."

Hwaseong Special City plans to continue pursuing various senior welfare policies to ensure that seniors are respected as members of the community and can enjoy healthy and stable retirements.
