Suwon Kwonseon District Dementia Relief Center Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for Creating Dementia-Friendly Environment

The Suwon Kwonseon District Dementia Relief Center received the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation in the Outstanding Dementia Program category at the "2026 19th Gyeonggi Province Dementia Overcoming Day Commemoration" held on the 22nd at the Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute.

At the event organized by the Gyeonggi Metropolitan Dementia Center, the Kwonseon District Dementia Relief Center was recognized for contributing to the creation of a dementia-friendly environment where dementia patients and their families can feel secure and live comfortably through dementia management and awareness improvement activities in connection with the local community.

Suwon Women's University, the dementia overcoming leading organization of the Kwonseon District Dementia Relief Center, received a commendation from the Gyeonggi Province Governor. Two elderly dementia patients registered at the center also received the top prize and an encouragement award in a dementia awareness improvement drawing contest.

An official of the Kwonseon District Dementia Relief Center said, "This is an achievement accomplished together by the institution, the university, and elderly dementia patients, which makes it all the more meaningful," and added, "We will continue to cooperate with the university and related organizations so that the local community can view dementia with a warm perspective."
