Anseong Citizens' Grand Festival 'Baudeokki Festival' Connecting Generations and Uniting Hearts

The Namsadang Baudeokki Festival has become a gathering of harmony embracing all generations amid the confluence of tradition and modernity.

This year's festival is succeeding the artistry of Namsadang performance while fostering notable participation from citizens and young artists, elevating the cultural value of Baudeokki.

Notably, on the 4th, the second 'The Next Baudeokki' competition featuring young participants drew enthusiastic response from audiences. Nine finalist teams showcased their distinctive talents and passion through song, dance, and musical performances, with the grand prize going to 'Sailors,' a team that presented distinctive music, earning 5 million won in prize money.

Additionally, the Anseong Citizens' Art Stage, where citizens directly created the stage, and special performances by students from Chung-Ang University and Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts blended the energy of future generations with the excitement of the regional festival.

Throughout the festival grounds, diverse programs satisfying all five senses were presented, including Namsadang performance, masterclasses on UNESCO Cultural Heritage, and the historic Anseong Old Market.

On the final day, the 5th, the Baudeokki Choir Festival, Global Harmony Festival, and Traditional Performance Festival have been arranged, sustaining the momentum of the non-stop events.

In particular, the closing ceremony begins at 7 p.m., placing a final flourish on the four-day festival.

The closing ceremony will feature idol group 'Dodri,' which showcases fresh appeal in traditional Korean music, along with 'C.O.P Performance Group,' 'Baudeokki Signature Show,' and Korean music crossover band 'Band Nalda.'

Particularly, the 'Baudeokki Signature Show' will reinterpret the identity of Namsadang performance through modern LED performances, offering audiences a special viewing experience as a stage promoting the value of traditional performing arts.

Mayor Kim Bo-ra stated, "The Baudeokki Festival is a precious asset of Anseong that preserves tradition and unites all generations," and added, "I hope that everyone from children to seniors will become the protagonists of the Baudeokki Festival and fully enjoy it through the final day, creating cherished memories."
