Suwon Special City 'Share House CON' No. 6 Welcomes 3 Youth Preparing for Independence

On the 23rd, the city held an opening ceremony with Jung Ban-seok, head of Suwon City's Urban Development Bureau, Jung Geum-mi, chairman of the Seryou 2-dong Community Social Welfare Council, Cha Min-hoe, LH deputy director, and others in attendance, celebrating the youth's move-in.
Share House CON No. 6 (Seryou 2-dong, Gwonseon-gu) has an exclusive area of 84.92㎡ with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Female youth preparing for independence who have exited child-rearing facilities and group homes have moved in.
The city recruited youth preparing for independence for move-in during March and April, prepared for their arrival by installing furniture, and held orientations twice on the 9th and 11th for the incoming youth. Residents can stay until April 2026.
'Share House CON for Youth Preparing for Independence,' a youth housing welfare policy of the city, provides youth 29 years old or younger preparing for independence with a shared residential space free of rent charges where they can live stably for 2 years, while supporting their independence activities. The city covers 100% of the deposit and rental fees, and incoming youth only bear management fees and utility costs.
The city provides 'self-reliance support services' to incoming youth. It supports their priority access to youth-related services in the local community. It provides information related to employment and entrepreneurship and connects them to relevant employment and entrepreneurship institutions. Additionally, the city links local community volunteer groups with incoming youth as mentors and mentees to support psychological and social stability, and provides outgoing residents upon contract completion with priority access to rental housing and rental deposit support.
A city official stated, "We plan to continuously expand Share House CON by 2 units annually to reach 10 units," adding, "We will provide incoming youth with self-reliance support services including community mentoring and connections to employment and entrepreneurship institutions so they can settle as healthy members of our society."
