Hwaseong Special City Completes Byeongjeom Station Multi-Purpose Transit Center Parking Tower with 313 Spaces
[Suwon Ilbo=Park Chan-hyuk Reporter] The 'Byeongjeom Station Multi-Purpose Transit Center Parking Tower,' created to address parking shortages in the Byeongjeom Station area of Hwaseong Special City and enhance convenience in connecting public transportation, was completed on the 14th.
The city held a completion ceremony attended by approximately 50 people including Mayor Jung Myung-keun, National Assembly Member Bae Jung-soo, Gyeonggi Province Assemblyman Lee Jin-hyung, and city council members, who toured the completed parking tower and expressed expectations for future operations.
The Byeongjeom Station Multi-Purpose Transit Center Parking Tower was constructed as a four-story, five-tier structure in the area of 946-6, Jin-an-dong, securing a total of 313 parking spaces. In particular, a pedestrian bridge directly connected to Byeongjeom Station was installed to allow citizens using the parking tower to conveniently access Byeongjeom Station.
The parking tower will begin pilot operations starting next month on the 1st, and after a free access period, will proceed to official operations after gathering citizen opinions.
Meanwhile, besides this Byeongjeom Station parking tower, the city created a public parking tower with 312 spaces near Dongtan Lake Park in May and is actively promoting various parking infrastructure projects to alleviate urban traffic congestion and create convenient parking environments.
Mayor Jung Myung-keun stated, "With the completion of this Byeongjeom Station Multi-Purpose Transit Center Parking Tower, public transportation accessibility for citizens using Byeongjeom Station will be significantly improved," and added, "We will make our best efforts to prepare for parking tower operations to alleviate urban parking shortages and enhance citizen convenience."
