Hwaseong Special City Completes 313-Space Byeongjeom Station Multi-modal Transit Center Parking Tower
[Suwon Ilbo=Park Chan-hyuk Reporter] The 'Byeongjeom Station Multi-modal Transit Center Parking Tower,' constructed to resolve parking shortages in the Byeongjeom Station area of Hwaseong Special City and strengthen public transit connectivity, was completed on the 14th.
The city held a completion ceremony with approximately 50 attendees including Mayor Jung Myeong-geun, City Council Speaker Bae Jung-soo, Gyeonggi Province Councilor Lee Jin-hyung, and city councilors, and toured the completed parking tower directly, expressing expectations regarding future operations.
The Byeongjeom Station Multi-modal Transit Center Parking Tower was constructed on a four-story, five-tier scale in the area of 946-6, Jin-an-dong, and provides a total of 313 parking spaces. In particular, a pedestrian bridge directly connecting to Byeongjeom Station was installed to enable citizens using the parking tower to conveniently access Byeongjeom Station.
The parking tower will begin trial operation starting August 1st next month, and following a free-access period, it will gather citizen feedback and transition to official operation.
Meanwhile, beyond this Byeongjeom Station parking tower, the city constructed a public parking tower with 312 spaces near Dongtan Lake Park in May, and is actively promoting various parking infrastructure projects to alleviate urban traffic congestion and create a convenient parking environment.
Mayor Jung Myeong-geun stated, "With the completion of this Byeongjeom Station Multi-modal Transit Center Parking Tower, public transit accessibility for citizens using Byeongjeom Station will be significantly improved," and added, "We will do our best to prepare for parking tower operation to resolve urban parking shortages and enhance citizen convenience."
