Hwaseong Special City Holds "17th National Heroes Memorial Service"... Honoring the Noble Sacrifices of Fallen Patriots

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) held the "17th National Heroes Memorial Service" jointly with the Hwaseong Veterans Organizations Council on the 18th at Hwaseong National Cemetery (83 Hyohaeng-ro, Byeongjeom-gu) to honor the spirits of fallen patriots and national heroes.

The joint memorial service was organized to pay respects to fallen patriots and national heroes who sacrificed themselves for the nation, and to reflect on their noble spirit of sacrifice.

Approximately 300 people attended the event, including Yoon Seong-jin, First Vice Mayor of Hwaseong Special City, Lee Gye-cheol, Chairman of the Hwaseong Special City Council, heads of veterans organizations in Hwaseong Special City, national meritorious persons, and their families, to mourn the fallen patriots and national heroes.

The event was divided into two parts. Part 1 proceeded with △national ceremony △eulogies and memorial remarks △recitation of elegies △flower offerings and incense burning in sequence, and participants renewed their memory of the sacrifice and dedication of fallen patriots and national heroes, expressing deep gratitude and respect. Subsequently, Part 2 featured a ceremony of offerings led by heads of veterans organizations.

Yoon Seong-jin, First Vice Mayor of Hwaseong Special City, delivered a memorial address on behalf of Mayor Jung Myung-geun of Hwaseong Special City, stating, "I express deep gratitude and respect to the fallen patriots and national heroes who dedicated themselves to the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea," and added, "Hwaseong Special City will not forget their noble sacrifices and do our best to ensure proper tribute and welfare for veterans."

Yoon Dae-seong, Chairman of the Veterans Organizations Council, stated, "Remembering the noble spirit of national heroes who dedicated themselves to freedom and peace, I hope this joint memorial service becomes an occasion to deeply engrave their legacy in our hearts once more."

Meanwhile, Hwaseong Special City and the Hwaseong Veterans Organizations Council continue to hold joint memorial services annually to honor the spirits of fallen patriots and national heroes who sacrificed themselves for the nation and to inherit their noble spirit of sacrifice. The city plans to hold events for national meritorious persons and their families, including a Veterans Family Day event in December.
