Anseong City Holds Entrance Ceremony for 'Anseong Middle-aged and Older Adults Happiness Campus'
Anseong City announced on the 20th that it held the '2026 Anseong Middle-aged and Older Adults Happiness Campus Second-half Entrance Ceremony' at the International Convention Center on the second floor of Hankyung National University's AI Future Hall and will fully operate educational programs for middle-aged and older adults in the second half of the year.
Approximately 160 people attended the entrance ceremony, including Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra, Hankyung National University President Kim Chan-gi, Anseong City Council Speaker Ban In-suk, students, and related government officials. The event proceeded with opening remarks and guest introductions, opening addresses and welcome remarks, congratulatory speeches, commemorative photography, followed by joint performances by students and current enrollees, an introduction to the Happiness Campus, and an introductory lecture.
In the second half of this year, a total of 180 people registered for 11 regular programs. In particular, the city expanded programs for practical competency development beyond hobby and liberal arts education, including certification acquisition, professional skill acquisition, and strengthened digital capabilities.
Certification programs include △Level 1 Spoon Percussion Instructor △Catering Event Chef △Level 1 Elderly Cognitive Training Instructor △Level 2 Book Play Instructor. Additionally, through the △Coffee Machine Repair Technician program, participants learn the structure of semi-automatic espresso machines and practical on-site repair skills, and programs such as △Slow Aging Recipe △Vocal Training △Anseong Cultural Artisan Class provide education applicable to daily life and culture.
Notably, this year the city newly prepared AI education for middle-aged and older adults to strengthen AI utilization capabilities, a key policy direction. 'AI Kindergarten' is a basic course that helps citizens encountering AI for the first time comfortably and familiarly utilize AI in daily life through smartphones and PCs, while the 'Completing Personal Branding with AI' program is a practical education course where participants directly create content such as short-form videos and AI music by utilizing AI to transform their individual strengths and experiences into a brand.
Through such education, Anseong City plans to support middle-aged and older adults not merely as education recipients, but as active subjects who can fulfill roles in the local community by connecting their experience and capabilities to new employment opportunities and social contribution.
Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra stated, "Middle-aged and older adults are important assets of our local community with long-standing experience and expertise," and added, "The competencies learned and acquired at the Happiness Campus will lead to new job opportunities and social contribution, and I will actively support middle-aged and older adult citizens to play confident roles as subjects of the local community."
