Mayor Kim Jong-cheon of Pocheon Inspects Environmental Civil Complaint Sites and Large-Scale Road Construction Projects

Despite his busy schedule, Mayor Kim Jong-cheon of Pocheon continues to visit major project sites with the belief that 'all civil complaints originate from the field, and all solutions exist in the field.'

On the 12th, Mayor Kim visited Pocheon Art Valley to explore tourism activation measures, followed by inspections of environmental civil complaint sites and large-scale road construction projects suffering from water quality deterioration, odor issues, and abandoned waste.

During his visit to Pocheon Art Valley, Mayor Kim urged officials to accelerate projects in preparation for increased tourist demand with the opening of the Guri-Pocheon private expressway on the 30th. He emphasized the need to create a unique and distinctive space reflecting Pocheon Art Valley's original value through projects including healing forest development, media façade performances for nighttime visitors, flying performances, light sculpture installations, and landscape lighting.

Mayor Kim also visited Juwon-ri in Changsoo-myeon, a waste site that has been neglected for years due to environmental complaints, and instructed officials to take measures to prevent fires and secondary environmental pollution. He ordered thorough review of permits going forward to prevent recurrence and directed officials to do their best to prevent resident damage.

Regarding the Yeongpyeong Stream, Mayor Kim instructed periodic inspections of livestock farms, food waste disposal facilities, stone quarries, and factories near Oebuk Stream, which has the greatest impact on the stream's water quality. He also emphasized the need to strengthen administrative guidance to promote voluntary water quality improvement activities centered on polluters.

Finally, Mayor Kim visited large-scale construction sites for the Yeongjung-Jeongok road expansion project (14 km, 13-16 m width) and Shinbuk-Gayang road expansion project (4 km, 12 m width). He instructed officials to conduct construction from the perspective of residents and users, and coordinated countermeasures with relevant parties to ensure project funding is secured and the work is completed on schedule without delay.
