Pocheon Mayor Holds Breakfast Meeting on Drought Countermeasures with Heads of Towns and Neighborhoods

Mayor Kim Jong-cheon of Pocheon held a breakfast meeting on drought countermeasures with heads of towns and neighborhoods on the 22nd in preemptive response to the prolonged drought.

In Pocheon, rice transplanting is almost complete and the reservoir water level stands at approximately 55%, which is not an extreme situation. However, rice transplanting in mountainous areas remains unfinished, and field crops are showing signs of poor growth, prompting the city to hold this meeting as a countermeasure.

At the meeting, Mayor Kim Jong-cheon of Pocheon issued instructions to actively utilize available pumping equipment for drought-vulnerable areas and operate public support, provide water tank trucks through public-private-military cooperation, actively utilize water tanks and pumps owned by towns and neighborhoods, and implement water conservation campaigns by crop growth stage to save water.

Additionally, he urged all visitors to the municipal office to practice kindness by always greeting with a warm smile and friendly salutation, and emphasized the importance of taking the initiative to reach out first and act first.
