Pocheon City Holds 2018 General Budget Compilation and Operation Standards Briefing

Pocheon City (Mayor Kim Jong-cheon) held a briefing on the 2018 general budget compilation and operation standards on the 4th.

The briefing, attended by approximately 100 municipal government officials, was conducted over roughly 90 minutes and focused on next year's budget compilation operation standards, budget compilation schedule, and question-and-answer sessions.

Bae Jae-su, head of the Planning and Budget Division, stated, "In a situation where next year's revenue outlook is uncertain, efficient distribution of limited financial resources is more important than ever," and added, "To achieve this, we will efficiently allocate resources saved through sound fiscal management in accordance with government guidelines to job creation, revitalization of the local economy, and citizens' convenience projects."

In addition, he urged active utilization of the participatory budgeting system to identify projects that reflect citizens' opinions and to participate in the process.

A city official stated, "Going forward, we will thoroughly review budget proposals requested by each department and township offices, conduct site inspections and deliberations, and submit them to the city council around November 20."
