'Suwon Together Care Center' opens first location
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] The opening ceremony of Suwon City's first 'Suwon Together Care Center,' which provides customized childcare services to elementary students, was held on the 17th.
The 'Suwon Together Care Center' opened on the first floor of the community facility at Humansia 16 complex in Gwonseon-gu has a total floor area of 180.915㎡. It features a program room for children's experiential activities, a cooking room, and administrative offices. The social cooperative 'Naeil-ro' will operate the facility under a five-year trust management agreement.
Project costs of 1.769 billion won (national treasury 619.5 million won, municipal budget 1.1495 billion won) were invested. Construction began in August and was recently completed.
The Suwon Together Care Center provides customized services to elementary students (ages 6-12) in need of childcare regardless of parental income level. Resident teachers at the center provide continuous and temporary childcare services (including drop-off and pick-up support), academic guidance, reading instruction, psychological counseling, and experiential activities to children.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kwon Chan-ho, head of Suwon City's Department of Welfare and Women, Rep. Baek Hye-ryeon (Suwon District B), Choi Young-ok, chairwoman of Suwon City Council's Committee on Culture and Welfare, and local residents.
