[Suwon Ilbo=Seo Dong-young Reporter] The '17th Uiwang Baekun Arts Festival' concluded with the participation of 15,000 citizens.
The festival took place over two days starting from Sept. 21 at the Baekun Lake parking lot. Various performances and competitions enjoyed by citizens and local cultural artists were presented along with experience programs, citizen participation booths, food stalls, and exhibitions that drew many visitors.
At the event venue, diverse open-stage performances featuring citizen participation were held, while local arts groups presented traditional Korean music, classical music, and musical galas on a special stage. Exhibition camps and various supporting events provided interesting attractions and entertainment that drew attention.
The closing ceremony featured popular singers including Nora Zo, Kim Hye-yeon, and Kim Jong-seo, with a spectacular fireworks display marking the finale.
Mayor Kim Sang-don of Uiwang City stated, "We will continue to make efforts to frequently provide opportunities for citizens to enjoy together in harmony."
The Uiwang Baekun Arts Festival will be renamed 'Uiwang Baekun Lake Festival' starting next year, reflecting the opinions of citizens.
