Pyeongtaek City Completes Strategic Planning for Coexistence Foundation with USFK

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jang Gyung-hee] Pyeongtaek City (Mayor Jung Jang-seon) announced on the 2nd that it held a final report meeting on "Strategic Planning Project for Establishing Coexistence Foundation with USFK" at the Integrated Defense Situation Room of City Hall.

The project was conducted to establish a coexistence foundation between the local community and USFK in the era of USFK Pyeongtaek, and was carried out by Pyeongtaek University's Industry-Academy Cooperation Division over the past three months.

At the final report meeting on this day, attended by Mayor Jung Jang-seon, city council members, heads of departments and divisions, the director of the International Exchange Foundation secretariat, and relevant department heads, basic concepts for coexistence and development by sector and mid-to-long-term and short-term implementation plans for coexistence and development with USFK were proposed. Following the final project report presentation, a discussion session was held to exchange various opinions.

Mayor Jung said, "Among the measures for establishing a coexistence foundation in this project, please immediately reflect and implement measures that can be utilized in projects currently being promoted by each department, and please explore ways to pursue items requiring mid-to-long-term review as new projects in the future."

Based on the results of this project, the city plans to prepare coexistence policies that Pyeongtaek citizens and USFK can practically experience based on the opinions proposed, and will use them as materials for major policies of the "USFK Pyeongtaek Era."
