[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City held the "2019 2nd Child-Friendly City Promotion Committee" on the 14th.
The Child-Friendly City Promotion Committee was established when Osan City launched the UNICEF Child-Friendly City initiative in 2016, and has played a central role in presenting the direction of Osan City's child policies from the initial certification stage in 2017.
The 2nd-term Child-Friendly City Promotion Committee, formed last month, expanded the proportion of child members. This allows for more active opinions to be presented in establishing Osan City's child policies going forward.
The meeting also held a kick-off report session for promoting a child-friendliness survey project. The child-friendliness survey is the second since 2016.
A survey targeting approximately 1,800 people including children, parents, and child-related professionals will be conducted on six areas of daily life including children's play and leisure, and educational environment. Through this, the child-friendliness of Osan City will be measured following changes since 2016.
Attending committee members received a detailed plan report from the city regarding the survey and urged efforts to ensure that no children are left out in sample selection.
