Mayor Yom Tae-young of Suwon: "Public Officials Must Fulfill Their Role as Sentries of Integrity"
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] At the "2019 Second Half Public Official Integrity Education" held at the City Hall auditorium on the 16th, Mayor Yom Tae-young of Suwon urged city civil servants, saying "Please fulfill the role of sentries of integrity and create a clean society that citizens can trust."
Mayor Yom stated, "If all public officials take pride and practice integrity, our city will be able to leap forward as a top-grade integrity city."
He further emphasized, "Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, who designed Suwon Hwaseong, practiced integrity without yielding to numerous temptations even during his exile. While keeping the spirit of Jeong Yak-yong in your hearts, please take the lead in spreading a culture of integrity."
The integrity education held today for approximately 500 public officials was conducted through a lecture by Park Yeon-jeong, a specialist instructor at the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
Instructor Park delivered a lecture on the topic of "Learning from Cases on the Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Graft" in which she explained ▲the Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Graft ▲amendments to civil servant conduct codes ▲cases on illegal solicitation ▲cases on accepting money and valuables.
The integrity education will be conducted over two days through the 17th for approximately 900 city civil servants. On the 17th, Professor Gong Il-hwan, instructor at the Police Human Resources Development Institute (Senior Inspector), will deliver a lecture.
